Package Status
Package Status Introduction
If you enter the tracking number of your package, you will receive precise information about the status of the delivery. One of the following seven results will be displayed and you will receive the information you are looking for.
Package status Not found
If you see a ‘Package status not found’ message when checking your package tracking, it may be that you need to check the status again in a few hours, or that one of the following has happened:
The delivery person has not yet accepted the package
The delivery person has the package but has not yet scanned and entered the tracking data into the system
You have entered an incorrect tracking number – be sure to double check and try again
Your tracking number is correct but has been accidentally deleted from the tracking system.
Delivery Expired
If your parcel has not been delivered within a period of 2 months or your tracking status has not been updated for at least 28 days, your delivery has expired and you should contact the courier service directly.
Delivery Unsuccessful
If you see the message ‘Delivery unsuccessful’ when tracking your parcel, it means that the courier has made a delivery attempt which was unsuccessful for various reasons. They will organize another delivery attempt shortly.
Problem with delivery
A problem with the delivery of your package can have various causes. In some cases it means that the package has been returned to the sender, that it has been damaged, lost or that there are other problems. Contact your courier service for more information.
In transit
Your package is on its way, meaning it has left the sender and is on its way to the depot of the courier company that will deliver it. This is a good sign that the delivery is in process and the next steps should be relatively straightforward.
In delivery
When you see the parcel delivered, it means it is with the courier, has left the delivery depot and is now on its way to the intended recipient and address. At this point, you can track your parcel to see exactly where it is in relation to the delivery address.
Delivered
This status means that the courier has successfully delivered the package. No further action is required at this point unless the package turns out to be incorrect or damaged after opening.
Common delivery problems
There may be times when you find that your package has not been delivered. These common delivery problems are easily explained and solved with our package tracking service.
Signature required
Sometimes a parcel will need to be signed for by the recipient upon delivery. Without this signature, the parcel cannot be delivered by the courier and will be returned to the depot. In these cases, depending on the courier and the type of paid delivery, a re-attempt to deliver may be made on the next working day, or further action by the sender or recipient may be required before a re-attempt to deliver is made.
Package damaged
It is possible that your package may be damaged during transit. If your package arrives damaged, you may be able to file a claim. Each courier has a slightly different process for doing this, but it is important that you provide as much information as possible when doing so. Have all information ready, including the value of the shipment, invoice or receipt number, delivery date, description of the shipment, and photos of any damage to the packaging and/or contents.
Incorrect recipient address
If a parcel has been provided with an incorrect delivery address, the courier will not be able to deliver it to the correct address. This could be a completely incorrect address or a small error where a letter or number is missing from the address label. In any case, an incorrect delivery address is a common delivery problem that will result in the parcel being returned to the depot and further action being required by the sender or recipient.
Lost or stolen packages
It is unfortunate that sometimes packages are lost or stolen during the delivery process. If you notice that your package tracking has not been updated for a few days, contact a member of the customer service team to see how we can help you. Each courier’s parcel delivery network is complex and sometimes packages do go missing. Contact us as soon as possible if you believe your package has been lost.
Taxes or duties due
When a package is sent between two different countries, certain taxes and duties may be due before the package can be delivered. If you see in the package tracking that the package is delayed because taxes or duties still need to be paid, this is the reason why it has not arrived yet. Missing taxes or duties for international shipments are usually added to the recipient’s bill and if not paid, the shipments are returned.
Package delivered to neighbor
A common delivery problem is that no one is home to receive a package. In these cases, the courier may leave a delivery note stating that the package was left with a neighbor or in a safe place. The desired result is that a package is left with a direct neighbor, next door or in the same apartment block.
